Eating unhealthy, comfort food becomes a ritual while in hibernation. I’ve realized that my diet is kicking me in the butt and is in need of a serious change. As of today, I will be going vegetarian for the next month to see what bad food habits I can kick.

Not only does this mean that I will be kicking meat out of my life, but I will be eating better all around. (R.I.P all of the wonderful junk food that is living in my drawers.)

As someone who sometimes eats chips for breakfast, this won’t be a cakewalk for me. Some challenges that I presume will come my way are:

  • Getting too lazy to make/get myself the healthier option.
  • Going out to eat.
  • Making sure I am getting enough nutrients in the foods that I will be eating.
  • Resorting to only Hot Pockets and other forms of unhealthy, meatless food aka “taking the easy way out.”

As I am very sure there are more struggles I will come to face, there are also some really great benefits to this challenge. I am excited to explore new foods, experiment with different recipes, and see how my body changes as I cut certain foods out of my diet. (Fingers crossed for that good, good clear skin.)

Buckle up and wish me luck for the next month as I abandon the foods I love and have become dependent on. I am excited to see what new foods I will turn to by the end of this challenge.
