As we have been drawn closer and closer to believing that love is dead through watching celebrities relationships explode in their faces, we sometimes come to wonder if love still exists. The first offense was the end of a perfect marriage: the split between Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. But the break up that ruined the concept of love for many was when the story came out about Tristan Thompson cheating on Khloe Kardashian just days before she gave birth. (Still not over it.)
I’m not a love guru, (sheesh isn’t that the truth!?) but I can say with the utmost confidence that whatever happens to a celebrity does not mean that your love life will also explode. Your relationship is not defined by the tabloids. Focus on you and the one that makes you happy and you will be a-okay.
For me, my ride or die is currently posted up in Denver, Colorado. Hold onto your questions because I will tell you right now that: yes, it isn’t easy. And no, I do not see him often. But of course, the relationship is all worth while.
My main squeeze, Pete, and I have had to get creative in ways that we show appreciation for each other. Whether that be through FaceTime, snail mail, or in making playlists, we have explored many different mediums.
Here, I am going to share two playlists put together by the dude himself.
This first one is called “for fiddy.” “Fiddy Kal” is a nickname of mine. This playlist is an absolute banger. It has classics such as “Today Was a Good Day” by Ice Cube, “Vienna” by Billy Joel, and “Waves” by Kanye. This group of songs absolutely bumps and is great for any type of mood you are in.
This next one is called “cell phone” as our main form of communication is through our mobile devices. This playlist contains more current songs such as “Hotline Bling” by Drake, “Only One” by Kanye West and Paul McCartney, and “Love$ick (Feat. A$AP Rocky)” by Mura Masa. This playlist is also an absolute banger and is super fun to jam out to.
Both playlists get credited to Pete, a true gem for taking the time to create these.
